Doug Wallace

After nearly 30 years of experience in civil litigation representing both plaintiffs and defendants, Doug is offering mediation services after completing the Harvard Negotiation Mastery Course. His main areas of practice include:

Brian Smith

Brian has 22 years of litigation experience during which he mediated hundreds of claims. He also completed the Harvard Negotiation Mastery Course. He has acted for plaintiffs and defendants involved in:

Brian believes that a well-prepared mediator who works to understand and empathize with each party’s position can bridge nearly any gap that exists between them. He knows the common, and less common approaches mediators take. He has seen what works, and what doesn’t. He is committed to work tirelessly before, during, and after the mediation to help counsel and their clients reach a resolution that is acceptable to all.

Mediation Fees

Two party, half day mediation (up to 3.5 hours) – $2,750 + HST
Two party, full day mediation – $4,500 + HST
For each additional party – $750
Extended mediations – $425 per extra hour
Travel time outside the London region – $175 per hour

* Fees include all preparation.
** For in-person mediations there will be a disbursement for the facility and refreshments.

Cancellation Policy

More than 48 hours prior to the mediation – Incurred disbursements only
Less than 48 hours prior to the mediation – $2,500 + HST

* The cancellation fee will be waived if the mediation is rescheduled to a new date within 6 months of the original date.

Conflicts Policy

While we continue to practice law in addition to our role as mediators, we believe that our representation of Plaintiffs and insurers is an asset to our mediation practice. In particular, our knowledge of the various players in the insurance industry assists us to understand the positions people take at mediation and allows us to leverage that knowledge for the benefit of all sides.
